Welcome

Are you feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or just unsure of who you are anymore? Do you feel there’s a struggle between the many roles you have in your life?

My name is Maddy and I provide support to individuals facing personal and emotional struggles. I have a deep interest in all relationships within the family, and particularly in the physical and emotional journey of being a parent or caregiver. I am committed to being part of a world where we are all valued, respected, and empowered to succeed and recognise that women often face unique challenges – social, cultural, and structural – that can make this journey difficult.

I am an experienced relational counsellor offering face to face and online therapy for individuals in Brighton & Hove

Therapy isn’t about advice giving, it’s about creating a space where you can think things through, see things in a new light, and better understand what is meaningful for you and why you matter. Together, we can explore ways that you can restore balance, communicate better, and be more yourself in the midst of family life.

The therapy relationship is different from other relationships you may have; my job is to listen, support you, and help you understand things better — but without you needing to support me in return. This way of being opens up space for you to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with yourself and those you care about.

Sometimes the hardest part is reaching out. You can email or call me directly, whichever feels easier.

How I work

I practice therapeutic counselling for adults, which focuses on exploring how your past relationships such as childhood or more recent past relationships might be continuing to affect you as an adult today. This can often happen without us being fully aware that these past patterns of learning and influence are ongoing.

Whilst working together we may touch on:

  • Events in your past and what sense you made of them.
  • The story of your past and how you were brought up.
  • Your current ways of relating to others and what these may mean.
  • Your internal world and how it feels inside.
  • Dreams and fantasies.

I am a fully qualified and insured Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and I adhere to its ethical framework.
